Evidence-based recovery guidelines following foot and ankle injury and surgery. These protocols provide general timelines; individual recovery varies.
The following protocols are general guidance and does not replace individualized medical advice. Recovery varies based on surgical technique and patient factors.

Acute Achilles tendon ruptures most commonly occur in recreational or competitive athletes, typically in the third to fifth decades of life. Surgical repair restores tendon continuity and length-tension mechanics of the gastrocnemius–soleus complex.
An ankle fracture is a break in one or more of the bones that make up the ankle joint—most commonly the fibula (outside bone) and sometimes the tibia (inside bone). These injuries often occur with twisting mechanisms during sports, falls, or accidents.
